Chapter #4
A new owner, and victim.
by: Unknown
It was rather funny, in all honesty, that the most powerful being on the planet was being sold within a ninty nine cents bin. On the other hand it was actually rather fortunate that your current owner did not realize your true "value"; otherwise you might not have been found in time by a proper owner. In actuality you could remain fully powered for over a decade without a meal, however you were still very eagier to feel your belly filling once again. The owner of the shop was always a possibility but he was easily ninty, his life force would lack the vivid flavor that youth provided.
Your chain of thought was broken as a young man, about seventeen, stepped into the shop. The doors movements triggered a light bell which stirred the owner back into full attention as well. Outright communication would harm your cause and as such you instead simply did you best to radiate an aura that would cause you to stand apart from the bins other items. For a moment it appeared the ruse had failed, had you grown so weak already?! Seconds passed before he finally turned back to the bin and plucked you up, his large hands fully enwrapping your tiny form. Without a word he produced a wallet with his free hand and slipped a doller upon the counter. As your new owner turned to leave the shop keeper locked his gaze directly upon you, could he possibly have known what you were?! Regardless the old man made no attempts to stop your exit as you were carried to your new owners car. The light of the sun, how long it had been, subtly increased the scent of your owner's hand. To a normal creature this would have been unnoticable but it sent your palette into storms.
As your owner entered the car you were rather unceremoniously dumped onto the backseat. Pain was an alien concept to you but discomfort was certainly real, your meals final moments would be that much more painful. There was no noticible change in your felt body but as the car ride continued you began to relax, waiting for the coming games to begin.
