You look at him and say, " I don't know what you mean. The key? "
He stares blankly at you for a half a second then whispers, " It was right there. It fell off the guard's key ring. Didn't you pick it up? Didn't you see it?"
You try to run the situation through your brain quickly. Think of something! Quick!
"Yeah I saw it. I was hoping to get it but the guard picked it back up again," you say, lying through your teeth."Didn't you see him?"
"No." he says, scanning your face for the truth. "Are you sure? I never saw him come back..."
"Well, " you say, " I was sitting right here, and he came back and looked at me funny, then picked it up and walked off."
"He's lying." comes another voice from the back of the cell. " I saw him pick it up."
" I did not!" you say, as panic grips you. " The guard picked it up!"
The others in the cell sit up and take notice of this little confrontation. You continue insisting that you didn't pick up the key, but the prisoner who called you out insists that he saw you take it. Soon, the argument gets rather loud and the guard comes back. The other prisoners squeal on you and the guard beats the key out of you.
You realize you better start forming alliances with the other prisoners if you want to make it out of here. You are left on the floor of the cell bleeding, and a few of the other prisoners come over and attend to you.
" You are the only one we can't figure out." says one of them. " There is a reason that each of us has been taken, as we are all influential political figures from around the world. But you? Who are you? Why have you been taken?"
