New Rochelle

"Where do you want downtown, lady?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I meant downtown in Stamford, Connecticut."

"That'll cost you $180. Up front."

She looked at me with quivering lips. "I only have $100," she said.

"That only gets you to New Rochelle. Up to you, lady."

"OK, New Rochelle."

So I dropped her off in downtown New Rochelle. Easy 100 bucks. As I got on I-95 back toward the airport, I heard a sound in the back: the baby.

1. Go back and look for the mother.
