“But Papa, all you can see in this thing is my neck.”
“I remember when I was a teenaged boy. A woman with an elegant neck used to drive me wild!”
Frida gave her father a very bizarre look before rolling her eyes. She could be covered from head to toe and her dad would still say she had to change. Granted all fathers didn’t want their baby girls to dress in even slightly provocative outfits, but that was added onto the fact that her dad didn’t like Manny. Well she wasn’t changing out of the dress she picked no matter what. Besides, her mom said it was okay.
As mentioned above, the pink dress she had chosen left much to the imagination, but it looked really nice. Frida had a ton of sexy and skimpy outfits to choose from, but for her anniversary, she wanted to be eye popping in a more classy way. Besides, Manny had seen her naked so many times that he would have no problem picturing it through her gown. Looking at the clock, she decided to head over to Manny’s, but since she had already heard her Papa’s side of the argument, now she had to hear it from her sisters.
‘You are making a-“
“big mistake by dating that no good-“
“vigilante, because one day he will-“
“BREAK YOUR HEART!”
“BREAK YOUR HEART!”
After fixing her hair and tossing the clones some mints, Frida’s mom pushed her out the door, being the only one thinking about her daughter’s feelings. Frida couldn’t stand her dad or her sisters. She had been able to tolerate how much they didn’t like Manny or his family since they were part of the policia and the Riveras had generations of both super villains and what they called vigilantes, seeing both as public menaces.
“I don’t care what they say. Manny is a great guy. He’s my guy.” Frida smiled at her own taste in men. No matter what anyone said, be it her small minded family or some random girl at school that said her boyfriend would dump her if she put on a little weight, she had made the right choice when she kissed Manny years ago. However, like with most things, Frida was oblivious to two things. One was that her conviction would soon be tested, and two, that even now an evil force was plotting against her.
Within the confines of a purple, eagle shaped building that should be a dead giveaway that it was the hideout of super villains, the Flock of Fury was listening to the first ever plot thought up by someone who was now old enough to have her own villain schemes.
“Revenge eh Miha? Always a fun way to spend your time. I just wish you didn’t waste your first scheme on the Rivera boy.” Vultura told her daughter, now in the guise of Black Cuervo. Despite that last part she said, Zoe kept on wringing her hands together with a sinister grin.
“Just think, with Frida out of the way, Manny will be my boyfriend. We will be crime partners, lovers, and shall bring Miracle City to its knees! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Black Cuervo cackled. Her plan was flawless, without Frida there was no way Manny would be able to refuse her, although why she had waited years to actually try out this plan was anyone's guess. Her grandmother believed though that the very shock of seeing Manny with Frida had made Zoe a little....loco, and only now had her mind fully grasped the situation.
"Yes, El Tigre still has the makings of a great villain, unlike his father. Always wanting to be the hero, so sickening. It's no wonder I broke up with him." Vultura said, to which Lady Gobbler reminded "Um, he broke up with you."
"AS IF I COULD FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Vultura's fury blazed behind her, as she proved that all of the Flock of Fury was mentally unstable.
Later that night, at the Rivera household:
"Ah, such a romantic dinner that was. Did you and Frida enjoy yourselves miho?"
"Dad, you never left the table."
Manny spoke his mind, even though he knew everything was going one ear and out the other. Being without a car, his dad had to drop him and Frida off at the resteraunt, or at least that was the plan until he invited himself along. Being the clingy parent, Rudolpho had really ruined the would be romantic dinner for Manny and Frida. The only upside was that Grandpappi was there to run interference. In some ways it was creepy to have a perverted grandpa, but at least he was trying to help Manny.
Then, fate threw Manny a relief pitch as an explosion was heard outside the window. Seemed another breakout had occurred in the Miracle City Monster Jail as those beasts began tearing up the town. Springing into action was "White Pantera!" and "Puma Loco!"
"Okay be good." his dad said before rushing off. Both Manny and Frida sighed now that they finally had some time to themselves. "Sorry my dad kinda ruined dinner." Manny said, to which Frida said "It's okay," Pausing, she trailed her fingers up his arm and slinked onto his shoulder. Manny's dad said be good, but they were about to be very naughty "We're all alone now."
"OH! I almost forgot." Manny said. Running off, he made Frida fall forward which made her kiss the floor. This was shocking she thought, normally it's the guy who wants sex all the time. She saw him run over and grabbed a box on the TV before turning it off "Tonight on News at 8, who or what is Heatblast?"
"Happy anniversary Frida." he handed her a small jewlery box. Eagerly grabbing it like anyone would, Frida gasped as she saw the Frida belt buckle Manny had made her for her birthday once, but now the "F" was studded with diamons!
"Oh my god Manny, it's beautiful. Where'd you get the diamonds from?" she said to him. For a second, Manny froze and flashed back to the last time Puma Loco robbed a jewlery store and he helped himself to a few gems.
"Uuuuhh, I found them in a lump of coal?" he answered, to which Frida said "Works for me. Wahoo!" Seriously, she loved her present so much, and was now trying to debate whether she should give Manny his gift right now, or save it for after they did what they always do after he has a fight as El Tigre.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
