Robin turned his head as the doorbell rang. “Is somebody going to get that?” He called out. When nobody responded, Robin sighed and gave the middle section of his staff a quick twist, retracting both ends, and then deposited it onto his utility belt. Grunting in frustration he pressed the button on the side of the door, and it opened.
A large wooden create greeted him as he opened the door. Curious at first, but it quickly vanished as he saw just who the create was from. Gemini Labs. “Ahh,” he said with a smile, “My new radar-guided birdarangs have arrived.” He picked up the create; which surprisingly wasn’t heavy at all, and quickly carried it all the way up to his room.
Once inside, he placed the create down by his weapons rack, and using his staff, opened the lid. However, his good cheer quickly evaporated as he saw just exactly WHAT was inside the create. It looked like n old phaser gun from the original Star Trek series. He blinked in amazement, as he picked it up. Written on the side, was the phrase, “Shrink Ray 2000.” He looked inside the create, moving aside packing straw, but that was it.
“What the f**k!?” He cried out, looking the gun over. “Shrink Ray 2000? Who the hell makes this c**p, and where in God’s name, are my birdarangs!?!”
ELSEWHERE…
The Puppet King cackled with glee as he opened his create. “At least,” he rasped, “My shrinking ray has arrived! With it, I’ll be able to shrink the Titans down to puppet size, and control them with my every…” His voice trailed off as he pulled out a birdarang. He gaped in shock at it, as he looked back inside the create, and pulled out another, and another. He dropped them all and sighed sadly. “Crap.” Was all he said.
TITANS TOWER…
Robin studied the gun in his hands. “Shrink ray, eh?” he muttered, rubbing his chin. “Let’s see if it’s all it’s cracked up to be.” He took aim at the large pot plant beside his bed, and pulled the trigger. There was a loud click, and nothing else. “Stupid piece of junk,” he muttered. He was about to toss it back into the create, when a knock at the door, drew his attention. “Come in!” He called out.
