Unfortunately, the coach wasn’t there, and the storage room was locked, so there were no balls to play with. So, there they were, staring at a soccer goal and at a basketball hoop, but they had no soccer ball and no basketball.
“Man, if I can’t find a ball to kick, shoot or throw around here, I’m gonna SCREAM!” one boy named Adam groaned.
“This sucks!” Jack sighed. “How come nobody has the key to the storage room?”
“We need to find something we can toss around to each other, quick!” Drew pondered.
“I just wanna go home…. I’m SO bored” Jared grumbled. “This is the most boring PE class ever!”
All four boys were wearing gym shorts, tank tops and sneakers, so they were ready to play. But, they had nothing to play with. Then, Drew had an idea!
“I can give us something to toss around!” Drew smiled as he turned and glanced at his buddy, Jared.
“Huh? What? HEY! What… What are you doing? What…?” Jared gasped as he felt something change about him. He suddenly felt very… LIGHT! Then, his feet started to leave the ground. He was floating a few inches off the ground! “HEY!”
“There! You only weigh a few ounces now, kinda like a helium balloon!” Drew explained as he reached over and grabbed Jared’s right ankle by his hand, easily lifting and holding Jared in the air.
“Hey! How did you do that?” Adam shouted. “You’re lifting him up with one hand?”
“Sure! I’ll toss him over to you! He’s light as a feather, now! CATCH!” Drew shouted, as he hurled Jared over to Adam, who reached out with both hands and caught Jared by the waist, like he would catch a basketball.
“Ohhh! He’s so light!” Adam smiled, while holding Jared in the air with his hands.
“HEY!” Jared shouted. “What are you guys doing!!??”
“Over here! Throw him to me!” Jack shouted, with his arms extended.
“Okay, go back…. Wayyyyy back!” Adam instructed his buddy. Adam was a football player who was known for throwing long passes as the Quarterback on the football team. “Here he comes!”
Adam pulled his arm back, holding Jared by the shirt, before launching Jared high into the air. Jared found himself soaring high over the gym floor, soaring through the air, as Jack backed off even farther with his arms in the air, ready to make the catch. Jared almost touched the 40-foot ceiling of the indoor gymnasium before spiraling down towards the point where Jack was standing. Jack stood ready and caught Jared above his head like a football!
“GOT HIM! Whoohoo!” Jack cheered.
“HEY! I’M NOT A FOOTBALL! I’M A HUMAN BEING!!” Jared screamed at him.
“Oh, hush! You’re as light as a ball and we’re gonna toss you around!” Jack smiled as he prepared to throw Jared back to Drew.
The boys continued to toss Jared around, until…
