New York cabs are famous the world over, and there are enough of them that it shouldn't be too long before one of the giants whose feet you're dodging chooses to hail one.
Still, you do wish that they'd hurry up...
Rolling aside from what seems like the thousandth mis-placed sneaker, you see twin monuments staying still besides the curb. Each rises on twin pedastals, the high heels of this woman's shoes elevating her heels beyond your reach. Above that are meaty, stockinged calves, but you don't have time to dwell on them now (although maybe later...).
Courtesy does extend to this giantess from her fellows, and once you get within her shadow there is no need to worry about being trampled by them. No time to rest up though, as you have no idea how long the wait will be until the woman gets aboard her transport.
Throwing your arms around the stiletto before you, you hold on tight and prepare for the worst. And when the step - the simple movement of a woman's leg - comes, it rocks your world.
Up you are carried, and your arms burn in their sockets as they struggle to maintain their hold past the pressure and velocities stirred up by the mere lifting of a foot. Then she lands her shoe within the cab, and you drop off to the musty, darkened floor, anticipating the arrival of the rest of her monstrous mass any moment. Should you stay here and take your chances, even though she may crush you inadvertantly, or take your chances with the taxi driver?
