A poem about the wonderful season.
Autumn Reflection
By Portia Monteiro
The year starts with the winter freeze
Then comes spring with its gentle breeze
Summer decides to join the party
Sadly, autumn decides to be tardy

The leaves begin to fade and age
So, the trees are freed from their cage
The grass begins to collect a bed
Filled with vibrant colors such as fiery red

Kids prance around hunting for treats
Though thunders roaring defeats
Turkeys fill our plates to the brim
People gather to practice their hymns

Slowly, shivers begin to follow our backs
And our feet begin to leave tracks
The ground shares space with snowflakes
Shoveling cause our bodies to ache

So as I say goodbye to you my friend
I know autumn’s beauty will never end
And as I glumly head towards the snow
I think of all the beauty that you show
