Reminder of current prompts

In case there was any confusion, I just wanted to remind you of the current prompts. This round closes at midnight on Sunday 27 June:

1. No children live at Stanfield Hall now - no-one lives there except for the old caretaker and his wife.

2. High in the crow's-nest of the new White Star Liner Titanic, Lookout Frederick Tait peered into a dazzling night.

3. No-one knew about the cat that lived in the roof. He had a clever way of getting in, which he discovered on a day when a sudden downpour caught him on the edge of the steeply sloping north elevation.

These are adapted from the the first lines of three novels I have on my desk at the moment. The books are so very different in style and plot, that I thought it would be interesting to see what stories they might inspire in your imagination .
