thinking like a ghost here
by Pita Author IconMail Icon
OK someone killed me. I am suddenly one very confused ghost. It takes me awhile to realize I am dead.

I am learning what I can do as a ghost. Now I could be friendly (nudge a player to watch someone I think killed me off) or evil (pretend to be helpful to obsfucate and confuse because I am really angry I am dead and they aren't).

What if the ghosts may not guess at all. But a ghost could decide to either be helpful or mean? Their decision would be based on maybe how they died, how soon, and their character bio. (For example, my pita character would be helpful to lower class players and mean to nobility.)

This would give a lot of leeway to dead characters, add some depth to what they do, and confuse the rest of us with their interactions since we wouldn't know if they were trying to help us or hurt us, like any ghost might be (if they really exist.) If we take guessing the villian away from a ghost the pressure is off them, then they can be outrageously creative and really have fun with the player characters.

Those are the thoughts I had this morning.
