For me, October unofficially starts the countdown to the holidays. It used to be Halloween, but it seems that everything from craft stores (which I get) to Family Dollar to Walmart - as soon as back to school is over, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the shelves. Even Lowe's and Home Depot bend over backwards to get all of the holiday stuff out.
Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, and am a big fan of "window shopping" to see what's new and all, but c'mon! It's crazy, as we are still getting 80+ degree weather still in October here in West Texas.
I love the holiday season and the decorating and cooking and baking. I love the fun and the "magic" and childlike wonder of the holidays. I also love the music and the costumes and the movies.
Here's to the beginning of the 2024 holidays and with that, 2025 is right around the corner
