“Guess who?” Marlon's voice echoed trough the throne room.
“Marlon! We did not expect you until next week. What brings you here already?” The Queens second answered. His hand on his sword expecting the worst, as always.
“I come bearing gifts.” He bent his knee and held out a small iron box.
The Queen held out her hand and an invisible breeze lifted the box. Once it landed the lid came loose. Two purple berries revealed themselves.
“My Queen, we have defeated the dwarfs in the Westlands. These are the last two berries in the realm. They have the power to cure anyone.”
“To bad they are so pretty. Alas, as Queen I have to look after my subjects. Pieter!”
A scared young man ran towards the throne. “Yes, my Queen?”
“Take these to the infirmary. Healer Tulok will know what to do with them.”
As soon as the doors closed behind him, the Queen refocused her energy on the man kneeling before her. “Get up. Now that we have conquered all of the Westlands it is time to move north. Once we take the flaming sword from that stupid king Ferillious, the other lands have no choice but to surrender. I expect you to bring it to me before the next moon. Now leave.”
“My Queen? Most of the elves died in the battle against the dwarfs and those left have to patrol the Westlands to retain control.”
“So you disobey my direct order?”
“I’m sorry My Queen, it just isn’t possible.”
“Caleb, bring me his heart.”
The Queens second moved before she finished her sentence. “He was the last druid to walk this earth.”
“Hmm, I never liked them. I dated one a long time ago, only bad memories. Burn his body. I will take the sword myself.”
