Over a month replaying Shadowrun Trilogy over and over and over again. I've finished each of the three games in the series over four or five times. The games are basically like XCOM in terms of gameplay, but using the Shadowrun setting and lore (which, for those who don't know, is a mixture of cyberpunk and urban fantasy) but with simplified mechanics. I already played all of the games once in PC, but once I heard the game was gonna be released to consoles and that there'd be a limited physical release of it, I immediately got it. I'm a HUGE fan of the Shadowrun games (both the tabletop and the videogames), so I knew what I was getting on. And, as you can see, it's taken a lot of my time. Probably because I wanna see it all from different perspectives - whether a street samurai cybered up to the gills, a physical adept capable of channeling magic to boost itself and through spells while punching the everloving drek out of people, a sleek decker slipping in and out of the Matrix like nothing while also getting help from drones, or a mage wielding the powers of the cosmos to beat up everything from private security beat-up cops, fully-cybered mercenaries, corporate mages, hellhounds, basilisks, spirits out of control and things from your nightmares. (And the occasional spider tank or small army.) And the kicker? I can't seem to stop - and I got a backlog of over 25 games still to play. (Case in point: I just got physical editions of both Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II and Doom Eternal. I still haven't finished KOTOR 1.) |
