I think I have an idea, but let's try asking some questions first.

1. Why does he agree to deliver the message in the first place? Is he running from something? Trying to find something? Trying to prove himself? Some other reason?

2. When he finds his dad, was that a colossal coincidence? Was he looking for him? Was Dad looking for MC? Did someone else connect them?

3. What's the climax- the point at which your character changes, like, permanently changes? When does the healing start? Is it when he reconciles with his father? When he discovers the recipient is pregnant? Or when he decides to stay with her?

And a quick clarification: Does he discover his wife and child died in childbirth before or after he agrees to deliver the message?
