To the point, I'm mostly back (I joined about 20 years ago but went MIA) to organize my writing and get peer input on a book on which I'm working. Without wading into the specifics of the subject matter, I'll share that it is something of a memoir of my husband's written from my perspective. I'm sure there's a word or phrase for that but I can't for the life of me put a finger on it.
I'm not sure how to classify my style, but I'm somewhat old fashioned in that I follow Strunk's Elements of Style as far as structure is concerned. It takes me several drafts to get where I want the piece to be. I believe in free flowing and gently sculpting the piece layer by layer until it's the art piece I want. In that way, writings I submit may be very unrefined at first, depending on how many edits i have made.
I hope to be able to submit subsequent edits of the same piece so I can glean wisdom from members on where to sculpt next.
