So the polls and results have made me think and serve as a launching pad for a question: what do you look for in a character as a reader and/or writer? Not so much a favorite character specifically but generally, what draws you to characters in the story? Is it what they're involved in, the position they inhabit, something about personalities or potential you see in characters? Or even just something as simple as finding X or Y character attractive or being drawn more to characters of one gender or the other?

I'll also pose another question. What characters or areas would you like to see more of for whatever reason?
