Tomorrow is October 1st
by A Non-Existent User
I have been thinking about the first assignment which is "Plot: What if?" "What if's..." have always been my favorite question to answer but a simple "What if... "seems vague really. We can do all sorts of "What if's..." but when I think about my novel I think it needs to have other elements besides the "What if..." question, which it already has. Maybe I am wrong but I am looking for a point to the "what if...", the context, the surprise, the conflict and consequences it causes. What kind of inner struggle does it cause for my protagonist?

I am struggling with these questions right now. I have a plot idea and a "What if..." situation but I am dealing with the "exact" inner conflict it causes for my main character and where does that inner conflict originate from. I have themes in mind for my novel but my protagonist needs a specific inner conflict I guess.

Anyway, just thoughts on the first assignment.
