I cannot even begin to imagine what you have gone through, and continue to deal with. I am ashamed of my country for doing this to you and so many other people, turning our backs on the Statue of Liberty and everything this country stands for. We are a nation of immigrants, and I cherish the gifts people bring to this country from all over the world, then and now, and hope we will be lucky enough to welcome you back with open arms someday soon, should you want to return.
In the meantime, thanks to the Internet in general, and WDC in particular, I am grateful you remain part of a larger family that overlooks borders and embraces diversity, and that we can continue to share the gifts you bring to this community.
Blessings to you as you adjust to your new life, and I hope these gifts bring you some of comfort and relief.
