I wouldn't say it's a problem at all if having an intricate outline works for you. Some people can't write like that, and some people can't write without one. If you need one, the problem is ensuring that you've outlined far enough before NaNo that you don't end up having to fly by the seat of your pants at the end of the month. I'd recommend going down the middle. Short-hand, brief snippets you know you'll remember later, etc. That way, you get all the detail but you can go more quickly and outline further before November comes around.
If you're the kind of person who needs some wiggle room, however: STOP NOW. You'll put so much detail into the outline, you won't want to write the actual story.
