My Monday Goals... Yes, it's Wednesday...
Well, I'm setting a goal this week to actually occupy the space I've padded and nested to be 'my place to write.' It's away from the family comings and goings, TV noise, cats meowing to either get in or out... It's been set up for a couple weeks now. Sitting back here, quiet, waiting, wondering if I'd ever show up or just chicken out all together and stop pretending that I'm actually a writer... It looked like the later was a distinct possibility, the more I avoided it. Flashbacks of a white canvas sitting on an easel or a sculpture stand sitting clean and ready with a 20# bag of clay sitting expectantly on the table next to it.

It's all the games my head plays with me. I don't know what kind of enjoyment or satisfaction my muse or creative inspiration get from playing 'now you see it, now you don't.' But, what are ya gonna do? It, he, she is a part of me, maybe the best part, so if we need to do this little ritual, so be it.

I'm finally here, candles lit (yes, candles), fan going, cat taking a bath next to me and my computer propped on my lap. The back door to the room leads out to the back porch. I can hear birds singing and twittering away, the colors of the bush wearing clusters of red berries like jewelry, there's nothing more beautiful and inspiring as mother nature. Even if I don't write a word, it's worth the energy to come away from everyday life, come back here for a few hours a day and just sit with mother, listen to her songs, witness her artistry and be thankful for all the blessings and gifts life gives every day.

Second goal is to review at least one piece of work from someone who want a second pair of eyes. While I don't have expertise on grammar or even a good hold on the bones of a what makes a good piece of writing, I can offer what I feel from the piece, what I see from the perspective of another set of eyes.
