Noticing Newbies

Hi all! I'm a beginning writer in North Carolina. I belonged to another writing website for a while, but I didn't feel that I was getting what I really needed out of it, so I went looking for something else. Here's hoping this place is the one I need! I have one completed YA fantasy novel and I'm halfway through the sequel (I know you're supposed to wait between sequels, but the story kept going so I did too!). I've also got ideas and opening chapters for four other novels, but I like to work one book at a time so they're pretty much on hold right now. I've written a few short stories, but I really think books are more my genre.
In real life I'm a fourth year college student studying art, which is not so different from writing. I live with my roommate and her two dogs and two rats, my disgruntled cat, and sometimes foster kittens or puppies.
I'm very excited to meet some great writers!
