Hi all,

I am basically asking for ideas here. I would like you to create an alien and here are the criteria: -

Firstly, it must be a result of evolution.

To expand upon this it must have evolved to survive in its environment. If there is +1G it is likely to be slow, with thick bones and muscular bodies. If it is a water world it will be a fish (not a whale or dolphin as these evolved for some time on land).

Secondly, it needs to be intelligent, otherwise it is simply a source for food.

Thirdly, it must involve convergent evolution.

To clarify this it is the theory (read fact) that evolution results in similar responses to similar environments. It is why birds, bats and squirrels (ahem) all have wings. It is why all higher creatures have two eyes to perceive depth. It is why intelligence (as in degrees of higher intelligence) appear in most social animals including dogs, chimps or dolphins (but never cats- cat lovers- they are just monumentally stupid).

So this is an earth like planet, design an alien.
