Don't despair. I agree that Writing.Com can be a challenge to work with in the beginning. The thing is, the more time you spend at figuring out the different functions, the sooner they become second nature. When I started here, I didn't know how to use this site and it took me months to be able to make sense of it.

Whenever you want to participate in a contest, you have to read the rules. You already know that you need a query letter for Hook Us. Well, it is a contest, so you will have to figure out how to write a query letter that is relevant to your body of work. Sorry, I can't help you with that because I don't know how to write a query letter.
