As far as I know, there aren't any workshops going on right now, but that will change in September and October when many writers here gear up for NaNoWriMo. http://nanowrimo.org/

There is a one month preparation for NaNoWriMo, and while it is not in session right now, the information on that page can give you some good pointers on writing. It's right here: "October Novel Prep Challenge" Open in new Window. That page is chock full with writing advice. Careful! This activity is not on right now, but the information on the page is relevant now or later, so check it out.
