I think your way to think by the window is brilliant. I bet you have many good ideas as you sit there. You should have pen and paper ready somewhere in the room so when you have an idea for a story, you can write it down. I don't think sitting at the window paper and pen in hand would be good. That paper would give you writer's block. Or not. In any case, make sure you take notes when you have ideas. Once they are forgotten, you won't ever get them back.
