A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
Hi everyone! My name is Becci and I am a brand new writer who knows nothing about writing! Im 36 years old, married with three kids aged 12, 14 and 16 and I have a mini zoo of pets. I have a cat called Fred, a dog called Bert, a parrot called Elvis and two guinea pigs called Nessie and George. I used to be a foster carer for newborn babies but it got too hard to say goodbye to them when they left so I had to stop doing that. I have a long term illness called fibromyalgia but I try to not let it affect me. My dream is to write, whether I am any good at it or not, I don't know but that's why I am here, so that people can have a look at my work and tell me whether its worth continuing or not. I always promised my Gran that I would write down the story I started telling her when she was ill, so here I am doing what I promised. I mainly write Y/A but I also recently (after a huge row and needing to remind myself of why we fell in love) started writing a book about how I met and fell in love with my husband. Sounds boring right? Wrong. We have lived through some seriously hard times and some fantastically brilliant times. If anything else, it stopped me from leaving him after that row ha. I love to read, I will read anything but I prefer vampire, witches, angels etc. I love the paranormal Y/A scene. My favourite authors currently are: Addison Moore Lola St. Vil Erica Stevens, R. K Ryals Kristie Cook Too many to list really but they are all of the same genre. Im looking forward to reading other peoples writing and hopefully have people read mine and give good honest reviews. I take criticism well and promise to always take on board any advice given. I am not very good with grammar and tend to write at 3.a.m so my work is usually done bleary eyed and without a worry for spelling or grammar so please forgive any mistakes. I will probably only post rough drafts or rough samples until I am happy with my work. Thanks for reading this and once again, I look forward to reading your work and chatting with you! |
