The way I understand it from the directions is that yes, its a list of characters along with their "external" traits: age, job title, sex, ..etc. Think of it as a Drivers License with a few more details that may be pertinent to your story. Create one of these lists for each major character and then you'll have a collection called your Character Inventory!
A profile is a look at the characters actual personality traits, who they are inside and appear to others personality wise. How would your character describe their own personality traits and attributes? Think of how their best friend, mom, or boss would describe them. Do this for each of your major characters and you'll have a collection called your Character Profiles!
