Leviathon by Mr Scott Westerfield
Started reading this alternate history book to my kids this afternoon.

So far, pretty Steam Punkish. Not set in Victorian times, but instead World War II, I think.

Walking deisel powered mecha-robots, airships, steam-powered rockets.

The first paragraph alone threw in at least 4 steam punk references. We've only read one chapter, but it's shaping up to be quite the adventure. My older son loved it.
