The Steampunk Boiler Room

Well, my friends, I am an almost life-long Austinite, but new to the Steampunk Genre, though I have fallen in love with it. While looking up movie times so that my beau and I might FINALLY go see the second Sherlock Holmes (dastardly thieves stole the money with which he was to take me for my birthday two weeks ago... GADS!) I happened upon a picture of a young lady in quite the topper and corset... and, to my delight, the words "CLOCKWORK-CON" in the heading.

I hurredly began my investigation, excited that, perhaps on Sunday, the man and I could pop down to have a peek. I might finally find others who know about this world! I may see my own kind!!!!!!

...only to find that $50 is required to do so. We are not wealthy folk, and my heart is now sick... SICK! Damnable bills and necessities!!!

*sigh* But, mayhaps the book will be finished by this time next year and, if luck and time prevail, I may have a dress prepared for such a grand event! At the very least, a good suit! And I will be more than prepared! *fist in air, shaking*

*jumps up, throwing wrinkles from skirt, wiping tear streaks from face and straightening corset, walks away as if dramatic episode never happened.*
