In&Out variants

The In&Outs are useful tools, but they only work with item numbers. There are other things now that have numbers, and it would be useful to be able to work with those numbers in an In&Out -- book entry numbers and review numbers for sure, and perhaps other things as well.

Would it be possible to have the option in the edit area of an In&Out to choose what kind of numbers the numeric box can process?

Also, we can use the text box without using the numeric box. It would be useful with some ideas to be able to use the numeric box without using the text box.
