You have no idea how long. I've been working on my current vest for over a year. I can sometimes achieve 1,000 rings in 15 hours, from start to finish, but that is on my good days. At that rate it would take...just under 400 hours to finish the entire vest. That is over a fortnight of solid work! No sleeping, eating, or (worst of all) writing!
And if you thought that was good, just you wait. Once all the dross is removed, it will be even better.
I only hope that when the occasion arises, I will be ready to rise with it.
