okay so here are the races that KC and I came up with. If you want your character to be of a race we've made, make sure you understand that their customs are totally different than any other characters. I want you to delve into it and make a different lifestyle. Especially with the Drunes... Let us know if you want your character to be a witch in the Black Hand. That will need to be approved. The Coven of the Black Hand In the corners of the world, places that even the most risky travelers rarely brave, a coven thrives. In this coven, a creature that appears human, but is so far from it it's laughable, lives. What they do, however, is far from laughable. They steal the souls of living creatures(animals, humans) to gain the power they need to do what they do. What is that? Oh, well... You may want to sit down. Seriously. They take the souls they steal, and, in a ritual that I won't explain right now, they form a new being. More like a fleshy puppet with a thought process that is given to them. They could use the soul of a simple rabbit to create and control something as complex as a human being. That's what makes them so dangerous. They are the Black Hand. They weren't given this name as a dark reminder of what they do. No, their hands actually turn the color of coal once they have taken a soul and turned them into a puppet. That's not all they can do, however. They are also capable of something so disgusting, I fear that even sitting, may do you no good. They can take the physical body of a dead human and, in a different yet just as dark ritual, make them rise again. This is a more difficult process, for the being that it once was is no longer. The soul has gone. This means the coven must give the being step by step instructions. They do this by- make sure you aren't eating or drinking for this could cause you to gag and/or choke- giving the creation their own eye. They monitor the monster in this manner. If they have more than two creations, the creatures trade off the eye with simple instructions, such as; sleep, walk, run, die. These simple creatures are more dangerous than anything else on the earth. They kill with no thoughts (for they have none), even their very own mothers. How hard would it be to fight a friend who you knew was dead just hours ago? Hard. Very. Eldars and Drunes Eldars, beautiful creatures in all respects. Tall, graceful (even the men!), slender, and elegant. They are fair skinned and not hard to miss. When you meet an Eldar, you know. Not only because of the pointed ears, but because of the air they carry. It seems more royal than royalty at sometimes (and they don't even know it!). They are long lived, not immortal, just living longer than the average human. They don't live in just one area. They have spread all over Ives. Eldar love beautiful things, but they are an old race, steeped in customs and traditions dating back for so long that they find change (as a race) very difficult, which almost resulted in their extinction, prior to the encroachment of the human race. Even the people, as a whole, look very similar and can be hard to distinguish between individuals. The people are tall, pale-skinned, with fair hair and eyes. They're as curious as kittens about all things human, finding human society irresistably fresh and new. They are slow to make friends, but slower to forget enemies; an eldar will remember an insult for centuries. For an Eldar, names are power. Truenames are held as closely-guarded secrets. There is little known about the race known as Drunes. There are legends, stories, but no record or proof that they exist. It is said that this race lives deep below the earth, within the very heart of Ives. They've never seen the light of day, some say, so their eyes are the size of cups. They can see very well in the dark, obviously. Because they live among rocks, they are extremely strong. An average Drune could lift 10 times is own weight, starting at a young age. They are the same height as a man, but they skin is so pale, that they almost look as if the glow. Another gift from endless darkness. That's how the story goes anyway... Again, as KC has already said. If you want, you can petition us for a race of your own creation. Just let one of us know. ~I am me, hear I roar! |
