Let me take a step back and explain why I am so adamant that true God in the Machine (as opposed to those false Gods in the Machine) endings are always so bad.
To me, they signify that the author did not think things through and failed in their craft. If the only way to make things come out okay in the end is to use "suddenly a miracle occurred" then the author was not in control of their craft. While I understand that stories can take on a life of their own, that does not mean the author can negate their responsibility to guide the story's development. Suddenly having a miracle happen, or to lower a god onto the stage, in order to achieve the desired ending, is not the way to make this happen.
