That's probably why most people post anonymously. The problem is that there are a lot of people who see only 'good' reviews as encouragement, and become upset when they get bad ones. When I first came to this sight I naively assumed that everyone here wanted to improve their work, and not simply hear good things about it. I tend to be a tough critic, and even with the best intentions I got some people very upset at 2.5 or below ratings, no matter how nice I tried to be. Now, I have never given a review anonymously, but I've certainly considered it a few times simply to escape the backlash I get from giving bad reviews. Perhaps I'm just more of an optimist than the fellow who rated your poem.
