A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
Hi everyone, this is my first post in this forum. I currently have two potential novels in the works, but I am having the same problem with both. I write a lot just off the top of my head, but then once I cool down, I make up an outline of what I want to add and figure I will write it later. This happened in my first novel and I haven't added to it in almost a year. I think the novel I am working on now has serious potential, but I keep geting stuck. I never write anything in order, I just write whatever scenes interest me at the time. Now I have to write the in-between parts to pull the story together, and I can't seem to do it. I don't know, I guess I'm just... bored. Not bored so much as I've written the high action parts, and now have to worry about working my way up to the action. It seems that since I've already completed the most exciting parts, I can't bring myself to fill in the less exciting but just as necessary parts. Does anyone have any advice for me? Have any of you had similar problems? Maybe I should just start writing my stories in order, but I just get these burts of creativity and have to write whatever part I'm thinking of right then so I don't lose it. HELP! |
