I have taken some breaks since being a member in 2003. Life is funny that way. It has a way of you demanding to pay attention to it. I took a break when I set up my online stores. It was very time consuming, and I had to learn the ropes. Now, I still have my stores, but I don't sell as much handmade jewelry which is really time consuming. I enjoy making jewelry but when you have to keep up a certain quota, it can get a bit overwhelming. Now, I mainly deal in vintage jewelry and other vintage items. I love buying and selling. But I just do it for enjoyment, and don't depend on the money. Then another break was when my oldest sister was sick and dying, and I helped take care of her, her family and household. Came back for a while, then I lost another sister. Was gone a short while, and came back, then I lost my husband.

Each time I have left and came back, it only took a few days to a couple of weeks to fall right back into feeling like I was back home. WDC will always be my second home. I love the site, and I love the people. We're so raw with one another. I'm sure more so then we are in our offline world. There's something magical about Writing.com, and I will always be thankful to have this oasis.
