Cold awakening

History of the people: three thousand years ago man came to the invertible apocalyptic world war that plunged them into a new ice age and soaked it with radioactive fallout that still seals off part of the planet. For humanity to survive an ark of kinds was built under huge dome with people in cryo stasis waiting out the main fall out and weather extremes. Two thousand years ago these people awoke and started the new civilisation inside the dome using equipment and the DNA library that was left for them.
After time a handful left the domed city to scrape an existence on the bitter waists but most people stayed within the protection of the great dome and its hanging towers and deep mines. Although the great city has developed a lot along with its inhabitants and politics the ark is still there, deep within a temple that rests near the centre of the dome on an island.
There are no viacles that can fly outside the domed city, what’s the point there is nothing much out there and the weather is too harsh to try it.
