This book is about a young couple named Henry and Melody who meet and fall in love. They get married and go to live with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Sanderford. Melody is miserable because they mistreat her terribly, while Henry finished up his military career. Before he leaves the army, Napoleon escapes from Elba. Henry has to go to the continent to fight him in the Battle of Waterloo. During the battle he falls to the enemy, or does he? Melody is told Henry has died and she knows she must go on with her life. She leaves Henry's parents and goes back to her parents, where she finds out she's with child. Melody has a beautiful daughter that looks like Henry. Her parents die from infuenza and she is faced with a difficult decision. Does she go back to Henry's parents or does she marry her best friend Brandon? Melody is torn,because she is scared of Henry's parents, so she decides to marry Brandon, so her daughter will have a father. Her life must go...on. |
