Grab a cuppa Joe and fall into a seat. Here you may find the latest news, a bit of gossip, a rant, or a movie review. You'll definitely see what makes me tick.
My secret isn't too great, unfortunately--I tend to avoid the social situations in the first place. Not much help, I know. If I am stuck in one of them where I don't really know anyone very well, I lurk toward the back of the group. *sigh* If you figure out the big secret, let me know!
My secret?.Well, if I told you my secret .... Anyway.my secret is to smile and nod knowingly (even if I don't know you/have no clue who or what you're about/on about). Mostly, it works, if only to selectively edit out people who don't respond to a smile, who I likely wouldn't want to know, just on principle. Seizures of the snide kind-me, too!. I'm going to have invest in a computer filter though, especially since I'm tutoring undergrads (online) this Term.
Ah, just getting to know the joys of school involvement-having ticked all of the boxes on the form that said "Will supply dishes for X school social function.". I figure if I can't join them, I can at least feed the howling masses
Germophobia is rampant among this generation's helicopter parents.
We used to get school supplies like the "materials" list provided nowadays because I anted them and would actually use them... It's weird to me what they *require*....
Supply lists for schools are the bane of my existence but for different reasons than they are for you. (college students who don't want to take art take general sculpture classes and thusly become my problem. Very tedious!)
Oh, I hear you-loud and clear. My five year old wants Sketchers, too. Why?. Because 'everyone' has them, except her. Trying to tell a five year old that they are not like 'everyone' is like trying to teach a fish how to ride a four-wheeler.
Can't speak to the school supplies dilemma-yet. No list, this year. I guess I have a year yet to start saving up. And, yeah, what's with the wipes?.
Just read the blog. What a beauty! I'm sending positive thoughts, prayers, etc. to you and your family!
My twin sister and I were premies, born 6 weeks early. I was 3 lbs and my sister was 2lbs. The blog helped me understand a little of what my Mom must have been feeling when we were born! (They wouldn't even show us to her right away because she was diabetic and they were worried she'd go into shock, seeing us hooked up to machines and things.)
Even though your day turned into a rugged mountain climbing expedition, dear K, you created a glorious blog entry ! I'd love to have your talent, my dear friend.
I hope you'll think about publishing one of these days. Chin up, dear one !! Gab
