Just an image This is the second attempt to get this out. I just finished one, was ready to save and send and moved a finger and lost it! So here we go again!

We have just finished Chapter one of Proverbs on heeding wisdom. Chapter 2 is titled 'Avoid the Adultress'.

Prompt Wednesday, October 28, 2020

Proverbs 2:1-5

1. My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2. So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

3. Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

I had only intended to use 2 verses but could not figure out how to divide them, they all go together.

What are these verses saying to you?

Solomon is telling the nation of Israel, whom he addresses as "my son" that if they will seek after the righteousness of God, which he personifies as a person called Wisdom. they will find that righteousness and be pleasing to God. Living a godly life is a matter of the will. If you decide you are going to be godly you will be.

 A Childhood Memory Open in new Window. (E)
A snapshot from my early childhood
#2234626 by Sidney D. Author IconMail Icon

What do you remember from early childhood?

My earliest childhood memory was living in a house way out in the country and up in the holler so to speak. It was dark and we were on the porch. My dad had bought me my first toys and I was playing with them. There was a full moon so I could see to play. I remember the contentment most of all. It was a very happy moment. I must have been about 4.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: I've been watching the virtual tours of Salem, Massachusetts and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. So many things I didn't know about. It was fun seeing and listening. Tell us about your home town. What's it famous for? Does it have great architecture? Restaurants? Museums? Famous Murders? Gardens? Celebrities?"

I now call Barboursville WV and Huntington WV my hometowns. My actual hometown though is St. Mary's WV. It isn't famous for much of anything. It was home to some of the fastest high school track stars in the country. My cousins were all very fast runners. They would go out and run miles in combat boots and work boots with light sand bags tied to their ankles for practice. Then during meets they wore track shoes and flew like the wind. One cousin came within seconds of meeting the world record four minute mile. I set a record in broad jumping as well. Our town though was not famous. It is becoming known due the big fishing tournament the hold each year called the St. Mary's Bass Festival.

I usually don't do Halloween. It's not a Christian holiday nor will t ever be.
