We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
Love is like an edifice we're building you and I. Ev'ry day may not be bliss, but neither 'tis a lie. I chose you for my very own so many years ago, and brick by brick the building's grown I'm glad my friend to know. Let's build it high, each day a floor, each night so loving warm, that when we're old we'll beg for more in naught to cause alarm. A woman, strong, you truly are. I marvel, being yours. The light you shine is like a star. Your face my heart adores. Imperfect man, I sadly am, but I'd ne'er cause you pain. I'd sooner go to Hell and damn my mirrored face than feign some love for you, that's just a sham and see your color drain. Oh, Lord, please help me live to be a true man all our lives, that when from breath You draw me free my name in her still thrives. So strong you'll be as strong you are while building to the sky a love, which none on Earth can mar, and none in heaven would try. To break your heart, eschew and loathe with all my being do. Your joy for life, I'd daily clothe, until my life is through. by Jay O'Toole on February 19th, 2020 |
