For the Soundtrack of Your Life Challenge |
I think I'm going to have to play this song. It's upbeat, but kind of painful. I need a little cheer, since I just came home to two dogs who decided to use the couch for a chew toy. I'm not talking Yorkies, these are 120+ pound beasts. I know which one did it, too. Anyway, this song. Many people will remember this as just a catchy tune at the end of the movie American Pie. It's quite a bit more. I enjoyed it a great deal the first times I heard it. It really moves. Then, you realize what the lyrics are saying. It's been rumored that it was inspired by Lou Reed, which is certainly possible. But, I find some similarities with a song I posted previously by the Rolling Stones. Catchy and upbeat, you bet, and with the lyrics both describing drug addiction. I'm not sure the experts would agree, but I don't care. I have to find a new couch. On a personal note, I was in San Diego in the Gaslamp, and what do I see! A small theater where Third Eye Blind would play that night. Of course it was sold out. I couldn't even find a scalper! I ended up at the load in, and tried to work a pass, but the cash they wanted was above my pay grade. So it was one of those near misses. I've hit way more than I've missed, so don't feel too bad. Well, I feel better! The dog who started it can stay outside though... Don't worry, it's 50 degrees here. I want him to be lonely, not harmed. Anyone have a spare couch? |
