Illusions of the Modern World: Four Metaphors Humanity Divided by Color or Creed There is the illusion of communication between us. I speak, you speak, we say nothing, we do not hear what the other says. The Nonexistence of God There is the illusion of security, propagated by wrought iron gates, responding to numbered codes. The Incompatibility of Science and Religion Gray shadow mountains above and behind majestic peaks, creat the illusion of reality. Death The illusion persists, despite all we do to resist, the concept of annihilation exists. The concept of annihilation, is a factor in our degradation, it causes great fear and depression.
