Martyrdom of the Báb

On this day in 1850, The Bab, which means The Gate, was executed, by a firing squad, in Tabriz, Persia1. The Bab, who was the forerunner of Baha'u'llah, heralded a new belief system.2

Jules Verne was right about interplanetary and interstellar travel. It will eventually be as common place a having medication delivered through the mail. I believe we will be interacting with intelligent, soul possessing beings from other planetary systems. The interaction, once the initial realization that we are not the only sentient creatures in the universe, will be more or less peaceful. At least it will be if humanity can get over it xenophobia.
