Marie Curry
Prompt: Chose a woman to write about for Womens History Month.
Marie Curry. She was a polish and French physicist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. She was the first woman to win a noble prize and she won it twice. She won a noble prize in two different sciences and she was a professor at the University Of Paris.
She developed the theory of radioactivity. She discovered polonium and radium. She developed mobile radiography in World War 1.
She died in 1934 from exposure to radiation due to her studies in research. She married Kazimierz Dluski who was a polish physician. She was a governess before going to college and becoming a physicist. I had problems with chemistry and I could never do what she did. It had to be awful to be sick from being exposed to radiation but no one knew how dangerous it could be back then. I admire Marie Curry for her achievements.
