When I Walk
Friday, May 12, 2017
"Success is not a destination, but the road that you're on. Being successful means that you're working hard and walking your walk every day. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. That's living your dream."
Marlon Wayans

On this day in 1847, William Clayton invented the odometer. How do you measure your speed or distance?
When I Walk
When I walk I don't measure speed or distance. I decide whether I'm walking east or west and then chose a landmark to aim for. I always know which landmark is my goal. If I measured speed or distance my negative self-talk would convince me I couldn't go that fast or far. This way, I can walk a reasonable distance in a reasonable amount of time. I usually guesstimate the time it takes me to walk. I look at my smartphone before leaving the house and then again when I get back into my apartment, so that I know approximately how long I walked.
