My Muse In Spring Open in new Window. (ASR)
Written for Mousie's monthly poetry contest Round 4.

The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's ParadiseOpen in new Window. prompt for Day 1098
"I love spring anywhere but if I could choose, I would always greet it in a garden." How do you feel about this?

Where would I greet spring? It doesn't matter where I am when spring arrives. On the first day of spring I celebrate Naw-Ruz by reading the Naw-Ruz prayer. Then I remember the springs of my Oklahoma childhood sitting under a cottonwood tree watching Grandma Mary's lilac bush. I'm not sure when the cottonwood tree started to leaf out or the lilac tree begin to bloom. All I remember is that I sat under the tree watching them and the beautiful blue or cloudy sky. After I contemplate the memories then I either go for a walk or write a poem about spring. For me spring is a spiritual and a magical time of year no matter where I greet it.

Five Haiku Open in new Window. (E)
These haikus describe spring in Las Vegas.
