The "Blogging Circle of Friends " prompt for Day 1576 The Subtle Temple-- write us a poem or story about discovering a long lost building. Describe the place with humanistic qualities (i.e) smiling gates, toothy windows. What was the building intended for and what is it used for now? Let's see some creativity ... The Subtle Temple Half open The Subtle Temple is the only building in the ancient city to survive both the upheavals of political and natural disasters. Those who pass through the gate find the temples green skirts spread across the courtyard concealing the naked stones of yesterday. Ascending the moss covered steps of the entrance they always pause to contemplate the toothy windows of stained glass that laugh at the fear or awe of those brave enough to willingly test their own superstitions. Walking through the temple's main entrance the visitors encounter the silence of uncounted millennia of meditation. From the sanctuary breathing corridors beckon the initiates to step into deeper layers of faith where they encounter the intoned prayers of love. |
