Head Transplant.. Really?
There's a so-called news story making the internet rounds that would be better published in a rag like the National Enquirer. Supposedly, A Russian man has had or will have a head transplant. Really?? I wonder, does this also include the neck? Would it conceivably be a Dr. Frankenstein'ish type of surgery? This is so far-fetched, but then again many surgeries seem ridiculous. I'm thinking of elective cosmetic procedures. No one has to live with the nose they were born with or the lack of desirable body features such as a voluptuous cleavage. There are doctors willing to replace or re-modify almost anything. Organ donations are different. They enhance life and are vital. Remember that expression: he/she has a good head on their shoulders? Technically, our heads are attached to our necks, but this meant someone was reliable, practical, dependable, and intelligent. What is smart about risking injury, disfigurement or possibly death? The popular ideals of beauty are ever evolving. We are beautiful; each and every one of us! How can a head transplant person guarantee receiving a workable, smart brain? It's not as if one could be taken for a test-drive first.
