Something I find annoying after a while, on Facebook, is when people post stuff that is designed to somehow make you feel guilty, if you don't forward it, or comment on, or share it.
These posts take the form of a nice but boring picture, with a meme style statement on it, and then it either says it there, or people type in some vaguely sinister words.
For example,
LIKE this picture if you love your daughter.
or,
My friends will comment on this post; I have a feeling I know who will.
I feel irritated by this. I feel manipulated. I even feel annoyed that people do this. Can't they see that only people who have an issue with these things would put any pressure on "friends" to have to actually do something for them?
I mean seriously , if you have ANY friends, if you keep posting this sort of rot, you'll have even less afterwards. Nobody needs reminding of what to do in life, do they?
Especially loving their daughter, or son, or mother, or siblings or Santa Clause, or the Prime Minister.
Are people really paid by Facebook, for the number of "likes" they manage to pressure or trick people into clicking for them
.
I scratch my head about why Mark designed things like this. I mean, why not have the much sought after "DISLIKE!" button?
Do they fear a massive amount of cyber traffic if this button was invented or became part of Facebooks transitory icons?
I'm happy that Facebook hasn't changed for a while. That's a relief. We must be due for another huge change in settings and stuff.
I gave up learning it all after about the 5th time of finding out this and that and all the hooplah about people stealing your id, people seeing your friends posts, or the photos of your friends kids because you commented on that post.
It can be a problem, that's for sure.
Anyway, I shouldn't whinge, otherwise I'll be clumped together in the same lot as the British. Poms. Have you ever heard of a whinging pom?
Yes, I know people call us Aussies Skippys, or is it Skippies?
I think it's time this blog note was packed away ready to copy and paste another day. Is that what you do?
I find if I don't make notes, I forget some oddball idea I had while watching the dog knaw it's bone, or while waiting in the local clinic for my Doctor's appointment.
And didn't I say earlier that people don't need reminding of things that need doing in life? Hmmm. Maybe I do need these Facebook Memes after all!
I read yesterday a feeble sort of joke that said: What will Santa Clause bring naughty children, if they like pieces of coal for Christmas?
Maybe there is a Santa Clause of Blogging. As long as he doesn't take the bad blogs and flush them down the loo in disgust at the mediocrity, the crudity and the ill informed, mistaken, badly researched, misinterpreted and just plain wrong stuff that's in our Blogs.
If he did, it might cause a Bloggage.
